It was about time to socialize with someone else other than the boyfriend & the kitten, so decided to pay a visit to the ah-mazing Style Birmingham '12. It was the first pro fashion show sort of event I've ever been to, so naturally I was really impressed! On the top of the already exciting experience, I met a few really lovely ladies *waves hand* from blogs you may know (& if you don't you should! *wink wink*). Overall, it was a great day out in the good ol' (slightly boring, shhhh) Brum!

Style Birmingham is not just a single fashion show event in one building, it's a whole lot of things happening in different places in the Brum city centre whole day. We started off in Mailbox, where the main cat walk show was talkin place. All the models were dressed in pieces from current collections of retailers in the city centre, so after the show you could basically go & grab an outfit your favourite model was wearing. Very smart, I say! Here are a few snaps of models (yeah, my camera is not really motion-friendly, maybe we could pretend it's my arty way of capturing the models?).

The whole show was presented by Martine McCutcheon & at the end you would get some pro fashion tips from celebrity stylist Bradley TaylorOlympic Gold Medallist, Greg Rutherford, also made a little appearance - on the actual catwalk! Woop!

After the catwalk, VIP guests could enjoy a glass of bubbly (aka cranberry juice) in a little lounge area in Mailbox.

Later on we decided to go to the House of Fraser, where the oh-so-wanted goodie bags were meant to be ready for collection. My heart always skips a beat when I can get something for free (yes, I said it, I'm from a fairly poor family, okay?), nevertheless I have to say this goodie bag was a tad of a surprise - three packs of sugar & a pack of chocolate icing? Well, why not, right?! *challenge accepted* I'm gonna buy some more ingredients & make muffins tomorrow!

From House of Fraser we made our way to Bullring, which was packed! We didn't get to see The Enchanted show, because the crowds were just a bit too much to deal with. *booo* Anyways, we had a cuppa in Costa in F21 (who knew that there is such a cool caf in Brum?! *hides face*) & walked round a few shops - generally what you would expect a bunch of girls would do on Saturday afternoon! Oh, one thing was a bit of a let down - we got loads of papers and leaflets with information, but none with detailed offers that were goin on around the city centre - I found that later on in the evenin on their website - so we didn't know you could go to Elizabeth Arden & Estee Lauder for freebies and loads more. Well, guess it was one of those thing you don't say out (too) loud because it would make horrendous greedy panic & queuing.

And here are the pretty girls I met on Saturday & their blogs:

Terri from Hello, Terri Lowe
Vikki from Victoria's Vintage
Charl from Ginger Girl Says
Charlotte from Lil Miss Chickas
Hayley from Strangeness & Charm
It was nice meeting you all! Also, I would like to apologize Terri here for being absolutely brutalised and torn to shreds by my little cute fur-ball Cookie. Now the world knows he's not as much of an angel as he looks, oh wells. Oh - and the wounds will heal, Terri, they will heal.
Have you ever been to a fashion show?
If yes, what did you think of it?
